Volunteers are welcome to request an early start or a late stop. There are no set hourly requirements; we simply appreciate any time you are comfortable contributing.
Please note that we will host grill-outs & potlucks on specific dates (indicated as green and blue on our internal calendar), and everyone is invited to attend.
For your safety and comfort, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
– Attire: We recommend long-sleeved shirts, pants, and closed-toe shoes. Please bring sunscreen and bug/mosquito repellent if wearing short sleeves.
– Equipment: Motherland provides all necessary tools, but you are welcome to bring your own garden gloves or personal tools.
– Amenities: Indoor restrooms, running water, seating, and water are available on-site.
– Parking: Street parking is available on Cass Street, Lawrence Avenue, and in front of the red brick building. You may also park on the west side of 15th Street.
Please let us know if you have any specific allergies or restrictions. Note that we have peaceful bee hives located approximately 250 feet from the main work area.
